An unexpected encounter with an unbeaten Kenfig hill side at Cwmavon RFC ground meant that Cwmgwrach youngsters needed to perform well, Kenfig started the game strong by passing the ball to one of they're huge ball carriers who ran through the whole of the Cwm defence to score within seconds, cwm were slightly stunned by this but soon pulled one back with a great run from Captain Joshua Castaldi, this spured on the rest of the team who from there on in put up a fight there were great tackles made by the likes of Anton Curry, Tomas Davies, Caleb Cole and Cosmo collins, who defended they're line on many occasions from wave after wave of Kenfig hill attack there were 3 further tries for them and another try for Cwmgwrachs Joshua Castaldi who seemed to be the only player that could break they're defence, half time score 4-2.
The Second half showed even more determination from Cwm's players with even more great defensive work from Brandon Jones,Matthew Whiles, Oliver Davies and Keiran Casey, however Kenfig hill were kitted out with a few very big and strong lads who forced they're way over another 3 tries, not giving up Cwmgwrach stood firm and a consolation try for Callum Griffiths meant the final score wa 7-3 and a lesson taught to Cwm who clearly showed them too much respect due to they're size and physical game.
